A Chrome extension. For X. Specifically.

We could not fix X. So we drew on it.

Doodler paints over the timeline with paper, scribbled icons, Comic Sans, and wobbly borders. The posts remain. The visual oppression does not.

Before X before Doodler with the default interface
eww. corporate rectangle soup. you can hear the algorithm breathing.
After X after Doodler with a hand drawn paper interface
wow. paper. it can no longer hurt you. unless someone tags you.

Scientific evidence. Peer review pending.

One of these is a website. The other is a small visual apology.

Before

Dense black panels. Microscopic icons. The faint smell of an algorithm. A productive environment for arguing with strangers and slowly losing your posture.

After

Paper. Wobbly borders. Doodle icons. Buttons you can find without squinting. Still X. Just visibly unserious about it.

What it does

Install

Click button. Add to Chrome. Pretend this was always healthy.

The Chrome Web Store is the polite path. The ZIP is for manual install people, brave souls who already know what Developer mode is and have made peace with their decisions.

  1. Polite path: open the Chrome Web Store listing and click Add to Chrome. Go outside.
  2. Manual path: download the ZIP. Unzip the ZIP. We are not making this up.
  3. Open chrome://extensions, flip Developer mode on, and click Load unpacked.
  4. Select the unzipped Doodler folder. It is annoying. It is legal. It is fine.
